Ireland. A place known for emerald green countryside, leprachauns and heavy alcohol consumption. Those things still stand, although there is something much more important to uncover. The Irish stoner/doom scene.

Some of the first bands I heard about when I first got into this kind of music were the undisputed titans of Northern Irish doom, Slomatics, and the occult-driven stoner metal of Weed Priest from Galway. Both of these bands are still heavyweights of the scene and continue to write and release some stellar heavy music.

Over the last 5-10 years there has been an almighty surge in the number of bands playing this style of music and the web of riff-dealers continues to expand, both north and south of the border.

This compilation will give you a taste of what is currently on offer in Ireland and showcase some of the finest stoner/doom/sludge to come out of the Emerald Isle in the last few years.
